SycoTec (formerly KaVo.Drive Systems) Spindle Frequency Converters

SycoTec high frequency converters are specially designed to drive HF three-phase-asynchronous motors that are used in high frequency spindles on grinding, milling and drilling machines.

Other motors consisting of HF-Motor Elements may be operated as well, for instance, actuation for testing benches or other physical and technical equipment.

e@syDrive Converters

This unit works using SycoTec standard pulse-amplitude modulation (PAM). Thanks to the speed of the implemented microprocessor, the drive can realize output frequencies up to 3 KHz which means a 2 pole machine can be operated up to 180,000 RPM.

These units are able to operate and control three-phase induction motors or permanently energized three-phase synchronous motors as well as brushless DC-Motors (BLDC).

The power range of the SycoTec (KaVo e@syDrive) converters is from 250 VA to 2.5 KVA.

HF-Converter Type 4444/4442

In comparison to the e@syDrive converters which are mainly designed for OEM applications, the 4444 and 4442 type converters are shaped for either comfortable enclosure for OEM usage.

Triggering the converter via remote control (e.g. CNC, SPS) is available. A 25 pole Sub-D plug is available on the back side of the converter. Additional options can be found in the technical manual.

Based on KaVo (WSycoTec) standard pulse-amplitude modulation (PAM), frequencies up to 2000 Hz or 120.000 RPM on three-phase asynchronous motors can be achieved.
